Today, I’m in berlin, sitting in a bar listening to some nice music in the background, after finishing my first pint of beer just before I was about to begin with this posts a glass died, yeah we all know the noise of a broken glass, the funny part is that most people clappped after that happened is like a common cultural way to show that something different happened.

Find you broken glass – let’s talk about it how many time have you tried to create impact on your site, your website or your internet marketing? 1, 2 ,10, 100 times? How many times did it work? Maybe sometimes, maybe never…

What you need to do is find your broken glass! A couple of days ago I went to see the movie Bruno, here in Berlin, with the original soundtrack of course, Sasha Baron Cohen really knows how to create that broken glass effect he is so perfect in his comedy that people who is supposed to get hurt, laugh about it, that is art, he cross the line most of the time but with class .

Now you might be wondering how you can create a broken glass moment, easy break a glass, if you are doing something like the others you need to do something different, offer something different, go into the conscious of them, reach their fears, reach their emotions, their goals, their motivations… the problem is that it is not a general rule for it, you only need to look at your market and catch their attention breaking a glass! What is your glass? What is your audience? What are you planning to do with that second of attention?

That is the question, here in this bar, the barman hide and didn’t look to anyone he was ashamed, he didn’t care! Come one he had to continue serving drinks…

So again how can you profit from that moment?, what I will do, I will scream or say something like, next time this happens “Drink x” is half price for the next 10 customers!

Then when you talk to the lucky ones, the ones who got the Half Price Drinks you can tell them that it’s a tradition here to do that! Do you know what will happen? Word of Mouth… “Hey, have you ever heard of that bar that every time that they break a glass they give you drinks at half of the price!”

People need to be part of groups, they need to feel part of something, they need to have rituals, things to follow, like sheep…most people on this world needs to follow instructions.

Ok, the bad point here is that the barman is not an Internet Marketer or a Marketing expert and I bet if he do that he will maybe get fired, but get the idea behind it is : profit from those 1 minute of fame, even if they are bad or good, there is a saying in the marketing world, there is not bad or good PR…Do something about it, find your broken glass moment and use it!
